Black Hawk, Colorado, a historic mining town, was settled in 1859 during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush.  The Colorado Central Railroad extended it's line to the town in 1872.
It's located next to Central City, Colorado. The population in 1870 was 1068 people, as of 2010 the population was 118 people.
