Quick History:
Originally, the Fitzgeralds was the Sundance Hotel which opened in 1980 on land owned by Moe Dalitz, an organized crime figure. From 1980-1983 the casino was run by Al Sachs and Herb Tobman, owners of the Stardust and Fremont Casinos. In 1984, the casino was managed by Jackie Gaughan until the casino could be sold. In 1987, the Sundance was sold to Lincoln Management Group (later Fitzgerald Gaming) and renamed as Fitzgeralds Las Vegas. In 2001, Don Barden bought the property and became the first African American casino owner in Las Vegas. Barden died in 2011 and his estate sold Fitzgeralds to brothers Derek and Greg Stevens, majority owners of the Golden Gate Casino.
The new owners spent million on renovations and rebranded it the D Las Vegas Casino Hotel.

½
month shut down due to the virus.
