    The Hard Rock had Silver Strikes from 1995 to 2006.  This is vintage memorabilia from the Hard Rock Hotel.

    The property is now Virgin Hotels with Mohegan Sun Casino.
    Please look closely at the photos as they are part of the description.   The case is new and has never circulated through a silver strike machine, however there may be some surface scratches from storage.  The token may have some toning due to age.
    What is a Silver Strike?
    A Silver Strike is a Limited Edition Gaming Token which is won from a special slot machine and is in a protective plastic holder.  People from all over the world collect, buy, sell and trade these unique gaming tokens.  The first Silver Strikes were won from special slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992.  The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of , , , , , , , 0 and 0.  The most common denomination is . Did you know that the older silver strikes have a higher silver content?  As the price of silver increased, the amount of silver decreased.  Today, most silver strikes are CLAD or heavy silver plated.
    Hard Rock Hotel History:
    The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino opened in 1995 at 4455 Paradise Road, near the famous Las Vegas Strip.  It was trendy hot spot with music memorabilia, a night club, restaurants and a music venue called "The Joint".  It was a venture between Harveys Lake Tahoe and Peter Morton (co-founder of the Hard Rock Cafe).  Richard Branson recently purchased the property in 2018 and rebranded it as Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.  Opening of the new property was March 2021.
