    Starlight Express:
    Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express is a story about an obsolete steam engine, Rusty, who races in a championship against modern engines in the hopes of impressing the first class carriage, Pearl.  The entire show is performed on roller skates. A shortened version of the show, 90 minutes, was created for the Las Vegas Hilton.  The show ran from 1993-1997.

    Las Vegas Hilton:
    Located at 3000 Paradise Road in Las Vegas, Nevada, the property now known at the Westgate Las Vegas opened on July 2nd, 1969 as the International Hotel.  Kirk Kerkorian, chairman of Trans International Airlines and landlord of Caesars Palace, built the property next to the existing golf course and convention center. Kerkorian sold to Hilton Hotels in 1971 and the property was renamed the Las Vegas Hilton.  Over the years, the property expanded and added rooms. In 1984, they constructed the Hilton Center, a 70,000 sq ft convention center. In 1998, Hilton Grand Vacations, began building timeshares on the property.  During the Great Recession, Las Vegas was hit particularly hard.  Hilton terminated its agreement with the owner.  From 2012-2014, the property was known as the LVH.  In 2014, timeshare developer Westgate Resorts bought the LVH.  A portion of the units are being converted to time share suites.

    In 1994, they built a 362 foot sign at the cost of million. Later that year, it was partially destroyed in a windstorm.  It was reconstructed in 1997 at 279 ft and a cost of million - claiming to be the tallest free-standing advertising sign.

    The Y shaped hotel plan was used by upcoming hotels such as the Mirage, Mandalay Bay and Venetian.  It maximized the views and allowed the hotel fit into a square plot - taking up less space.

    Liberace performed at the resort from 1972-1982.

    Wayne Newton headlined at the hotel from 1987-1993.

    In 1993, Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical "Starlight Express" opened in the main theater.  The showroom underwent a million renovation to accommodate the show where the performers were on roller skates.

    From 1998 to 2008, the property featured the "Star Trek: The Experience". It featured a motion simulator ride, museum, and Quark's Bar.  Part of the casino floor was called the SpaceQuest Casino.  The Borg Invasion 4D ride was added in 2004.

    Elvis Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, lived at the Hilton for several years after Presley's death.

    A Silver Strike is a Limited Edition Gaming Token which is won from a special slot machine and is in a protective plastic holder.  People from all over the world collect, buy, sell and trade these unique gaming tokens.  The first Silver Strikes were won from special slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of , , , , , , , 0 and 0. The most common denomination is . Older silver strikes have a higher silver content. As the price of silver increased, the silver content decreased.  Today, most strikes are Clad - brass with heavy silver plating.
