Main Street Station issued silver strikes in 1996, 1999 and 2000.  A variation or  "copper rim" was released 2000/2001.
What is a Silver Strike?
A Silver Strike is a Limited Edition Gaming Token which is won from a special slot machine in a protective plastic holder. People from all over the world collect, buy, sell and trade these unique gaming tokens.  The first Silver Strikes were won from special slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of , , , , , , , 0 and 0.  The most common denomination is . Did you know the first Silver Strikes did not come in the plastic cases/capsules?  Older Silver Strikes have a higher silver content.  As the price of silver increased, the amount of silver decreased.  Today, most strikes are CLAD, or brass with heavy silver plating.
About Main Street Station:
Located at 200 North Main Street, in downtown Las Vegas, Main Street Station is owned by Boyd Gaming.  The property was originally a Holiday International which opened in 1978. The casino closed in 1980 and the hotel closed in 1984.  It reopened in 1987 as the Park Hotel and Casino and closed in 1990.  Main Street Station was developed by Orlando businessman Bob Snow, and opened in August 1991.  It lasted less than a year.  Boyd Gaming purchased the property in 1993, renovated the property and reopened Main Street Station in 1996.  The property is home to a portion of the Berlin Wall, which is located in the men's restroom and has urinals affixed to it.  It also includes other artifacts throughout the property.  The style or theme is a Victorian train station.  The casino is connected to the California Hotel and Casino by an enclosed skywalk over Main Street.
