    What is a Silver Strike?
    A Silver Strike is a Limited Edition Gaming Token which is won from a special slot machine in a protective plastic holder. People from all over the world collect, buy, sell and trade these unique gaming tokens.  The first Silver Strikes were won from special slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of , , , , , , , 0 and 0.  The most common denomination is . Did you know the first Silver Strikes did not come in the plastic cases/capsules?  Older Silver Strikes have a higher silver content.  As the price of silver increased, the amount of silver decreased.  Today, most strikes are CLAD, or brass with heavy silver plating.
    About the Maxim Hotel / Casino:
    The Maxim opened on July 1, 1977 at 160 East Flamingo Road, just off the strip, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  They had a very popular following attributed to their attention to personal service.  The Maxim closed in 2001.  Today, the property is The Westin Las Vegas.  The casino portion closed in 2017 an was replaced with meeting spaces and a restaurant.
