Copper Rim:
Silver Strikes are composed of metals in varying proportions. The center is made of .999 fine silver (unless it is a "Clad" or silver plated) and the outer ring is composed of yellow brass. However, for a very short time - at the end of 2000 to mid 2001 - Global Minting made some Strikes with a
red brass
. These are called "coppers" because of the rim color. Typically, the "coppers" are harder to find because they were only made for a short period of time.
